Syria's Assad Recognizes Dead Children and Students in Ceremony
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrives at an educational center on Wednesday - to mark national Teacher's Day. Syrian state television released video showing Assad at a ceremony recognizing students and teachers who have died in the country's two-year uprising. At least 70,000 people have been killed since a mainly peaceful protest movement against Assad's rule spiraled into conflict across Syria.
