Power Player: Mary Schapiro Leaving SEC

The Power Player today is Mary Schapiro. Schapiro announced she is leaving her job as the head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in December. So let's take a look at her legacy. For starters, she saved the SEC. After the agency failed to notice the scams of Bernie Madoff and Allen Stanford, many people on Wall Street and in Washington considered the regulator redundant. But Schapiro was determined to change their minds.
