Kerry Meets Lavrov, Syria in Focus
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, as Kerry continued his round of talks with officials in Berlin as part of an 11-day "listening tour" of Europe and the Middle East. Russia will urge the United States to press the Syrian opposition to hold direct talks with Damascus, but fears "extremists" now have the upper hand among President Bashar al-Assad's opponents.
