Avalanche Cuts Off Turkish Village
Dozens of villagers were trapped in southeastern province of Hakkari on Thursday (January 10) when an avalanche engulfed their village. The avalanche blocked the main roads heading to the village as local residents tried to re-open them using shovels to move the snow. Villagers had to walk through a snowy path to reach an ambulance as they carried wounded people in blankets.
