Ricky and Nancy Williams planted the tree in the front yard of their Dallas home in 1983. The tree will go up on the roof on Macy's at Lenox Square on Sunday.

The official lighting of Macy’s “Great Tree” will take place 7 p.m. Thanksgiving night in Macy's parking lot. You can see the lighting of the tree on WSB-TV Channel 2.

The tree lighting event will include live entertainment and celebrity appearances to kick off the holiday season.
