Rezai, Wickmayer Exit Palermo

(Sports Network) - Third-seeded Frenchwoman Aravane Rezai and sixth-seeded Belgian Yanina Wickmayer were among the first-round losers Tuesday at the Palermo International tennis tournament.

Paraguay's Rossana De Los Rios dismissed Rezai 6-4, 6-1, while Georgian qualifier Margalita Chakhnashvili took out Wickmayer 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 on the red clay at Country Time Club.

Seventh-seeded Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva avoided an upset by outlasting Czech Renata Voracova 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 on Day 2.

Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino overcame Brit Katie O'Brien 5-7, 6-3, 6-0, while wild card Corinna Dentoni snuck past qualifier and fellow Italian Alberta Brianti 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5.

Some additional wins came for the likes of Russian Galina Voskoboeva, Chinese qualifier Xinyun Han and France's Olivia Sanchez.

The 2008 Palermo titlist will take home $23,000.
