LOS ANGELES -- There was more testimony in Los Angeles on Thursday from the mother of a Missouri girl who hanged herself after being sent cruel messages on the Internet. Tina Meier was questioned by the defense for Lori Drew. She's the Missouri housewife accused of conspiring with her teenage daughter and an assistant to dream up a fictitious MySpace identity to learn more about what 13-year-old Megan Meier had been saying about Drew's daughter. Under questioning, Megan's mother said she was unaware that her daughter had posed as an 18-year-old while allegedly trying to chat online with boys. In other testimony Thursday, a hair stylist said she was upset when Lori Drew told her she had helped set up a fake MySpace account to get back at an unnamed girl. The woman said Drew had no response when she told her that was wrong. Drew has pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing computers without authorization. Each count carries a potential sentence of five years in prison.
