Alpharetta

• Fourth of July All-American Celebration at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra goes combustible with an arsenal of patriotic tunes. Select songs get an extra boost from the U.S. Army Chorus. Fireworks will follow.

• 311, Ziggy Marley and The Expendables at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood

Headlining the Unity Tour, 311 brings its shiny, bouncy blend of alterna-rock, rap and reggae. Reggae royalty, Ziggy Marley, holds down the middle slot with tradition. And openers The Expendables, a quartet out of Santa Cruz, Calif., tread similar waters as 311 with a surf-skate hybrid of punk and reggae.

• Independence Day Bash at Star Community Bar

• Mall of Georgia’s Fabulous Fourth Lights Up Gwinnett

Movies Under the Stars, a free outdoor flicks series every Saturday through August 22, expands for the holiday. Live bands begin at 2 p.m. At dusk, fireworks light up the sky. Shortly thereafter, sci-fi popcorn movie “Independence Day” hits the 42-foot screen.

• Gwinnett Braves vs. Norfolk Tides at Gwinnett Stadium

Baseball fans can ring in the Fourth with the Braves’ Class AAA minor-league team. After the Braves face the Tides a fireworks show choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack bursts above the stadium.

• Margaret Mitchell House Celebration

The museum’s upgrades, including new exhibitions on the author’s life and the “Gone With the Wind” film, debut for free on July Fourth weekend. Mary Mac’s Tea Room will be selling food and drinks on site.

• Fourth of July at The Earl Smith Strand Theatre

A day full of events begins at 10 a.m. when guests can experience the Marietta parade from the theatre’s rooftop terrace. At 3 and 5 p.m., “Let Freedom Ring,” a musical stage show featuring patriotic numbers, takes the stage. The special Red Wine and Brew package includes the 5 p.m. show, a barbecue dinner, jazz and a terrace view of fireworks.

• TheatreSports at Dad’s Garage Theatre

Expect some off-the-cuff patriotism from the award-winning comics at Dad’s Garage.

• Pied Piper Parade, concert and fireworks

Bikes, skateboards, wagons, strollers, you name it will be decorated for the Pied Piper Parade. It starts at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur. The Callanwolde Concert Band kicks off its show at 7 p.m. Fireworks ignite at approximately 9 p.m.

• Fourth of July at Lenox Square

Throngs congregate annually for live music, a kiddie play area, food vendors and the largest fireworks display in the Southeast.

• Red, Wild and Blue at Wild Bill’s

Mega nightclub brings in 95.5 the Beat jockey Johnny D to spin pop dance tunes and hip-hop. A giant, electronic texting board allows guests to post messages to each other via cell phones and other devices. Grab for cash in the Cash Cube booth.

Conyers

• Fabulous Fourth Festival at Georgia International Horse Park

Radio station 104.7 FM the Fish hosts this evening of live music, children’s activities, military displays, arts and crafts, food vendors and more. Tots can take a ride on a mini railroad. Fireworks boom at dark.

• Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park

This day-long bash begins at noon with kiddie fun. Think arts and crafts, face painting, inflatables and more. Live music starts around 5 p.m. Headliner Vertical Horizon plays at 8 p.m. Fireworks choreographed to music follow and will be simulcast live on WXIA-TV and on Q100 at 99.7 FM.

Stone Mountain

• Lasershow Spectacular at Stone Mountain Park

The ever-popular, 40-minute show features lasers projecting images on the mountain. Lavish fireworks and other effects are standard. Patriotic tunes like Elvis’ “An American Trilogy” and Sandi Patti’s “Star Spangled Banner” fit the season. The park tends to pack out on the Fourth, and remember only the East and West gates will be open.

Alpharetta

• July Fourth Festivities and Fireworks at Wills Park

Pint-size patriots get access to interactive fun while adults peruse food and drink vendors. Local bands rock from 6-9 p.m. Around dusk, folks gather on the event lawn just behind the community center for a jolt of fireworks.

East Point

• Tri-Cities Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at East Point Commons

Live bands, food vendors and kiddie activities help make up this festival. All of the children’s entertainment — face painting, inflatables and more — is free. Fireworks explode around 9:30 p.m.
