WSB-TV Wins Big At 2009 Emmys

The 2009 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards honored Channel 2/WSB-TV with 14 EMMYs at its annual gala, Saturday, June 27, 2009. The awards included the top honor of the night of “Station Excellence”. This is third year in the row that The Southeastern Region has recognized Channel 2 with its top prize.

“This is extremely gratifying in light of the kind of things we have been working on over the past year,” said Bill Hoffman, Channel 2’s vice president and general manager. “It is really fulfilling when the product is delivering big ratings and prestigious awards.”

In addition to “Station Excellence”, Channel 2 received overall station honors for “News Excellence” and “Best Daily Newscast”.

“At WSB it is all about teamwork,” said Marian Pittman, Channel 2’s news director. “These awards are a result of hard work and dedication from a group of very talented people,” Pittman added.

Channel 2/WSB-TV also won 11 additional Emmy’s in the following categories:

On Camera Talent-Weather Anchor – David Chandley
