Erica Byfield

Erica Byfield joined Channel 2 Action News in September of 2010. Although she's a southern California native, she already feels like Georgia is her home away from home.

Before arriving in Atlanta, Erica worked as a general assignment reporter for KMOV, the CBS affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri. In October of 2009, Erica won a Mid America Emmy for her report on a burglar. Erica also spent two years working for KFVS. While at KFVS, she mainly worked out of the station's bureau in Paducah, Kentucky.

Erica graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May of 2005 where she received a Bachelor of Journalism degree. Go Tigers! For some reason, Erica wasn't done with school just yet, In December of 2008 she completed her Master's Degree in Communications and Leadership through Gonzaga University.

During her undergrad years at MIZZOU Erica worked for KMOU as a reporter and fill-in anchor. She also studied abroad at the University in Alicante in Spain.

Erica loves to travel and is always planning her next getaway. She speaks fluent Spanish and hopes to use that talent to tell the stories of Spanish speakers in the Atlanta area.
