Eric Philips

Eric Philips has been a reporter for Channel 2 Action News since 2005.

 He is an award winning reporter who has received honors for his coverage of both breaking news and feature stories.   

Prior to coming to WSB, Eric spent nearly five years as a national correspondent for CNN based out of the network's headquarters in Atlanta.  There, assignments took him to the scenes of news stories from coast to coast.  From the 9-11 terrorist attacks to a mudslide in California to the eruption of Mount St. Helens, Eric has been there to give a first hand account.

 He first came to Georgia from Norfolk, Virginia where he spent more than three years as a reporter for WTKR-TV. There he produced and hosted a most wanted segment called "Fugitive Files". The highly successful segment helped captured a dozen criminals, earning a letter of commendation from the director of the FBI.

 Eric began his on-air career at WBOC-TV in Salisbury, Maryland.

 Hampton University in Virginia is where this seasoned broadcaster earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Arts. He is an active part of his church in South Fulton County and a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He, his wife and son reside in South Fulton County.
