Investigative reporter Aaron Diamant joined the Channel 2 Action News team in April 2011. Before he arrived in Atlanta, Aaron worked as an investigative reporter at WTMJ-TV (NBC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WMC-TV (NBC) in Memphis, Tennessee, and WBRE-TV (NBC) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Aaron also reported in Philadelphia and at KOMU-TV (NBC) in Columbia, Missouri.
Earlier in his career, Aaron worked off-air as an assignment editor/field producer at KMOV-TV (CBS) in St. Louis and as a production assistant for both CBS News in New York and CNN in Jerusalem, Israel. Before television, Aaron worked in radio, including a stint as a news editor/reporter at the mighty KMOX-AM in St. Louis.
Over the years, Aaron’s stories have stood up for consumers and taxpayers by uncovering public corruption, exposing government waste and holding the in powerful accountable for their actions. His investigations have changed laws and led to new laws in three states.
Recently, Aaron received the Atlanta Press Club’s 2012 Award of Excellence for TV Reporting. He has been honored with nine Emmy Awards from the Southeast and Chicago/Midwest Chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, as well as numerous reporting and writing awards by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Milwaukee Press Club, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, the Missouri Broadcasters Association, and the Associated Press.
Aaron holds a Master’s Degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri and a Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology and international studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
