With a 4.38 40-yard dash, 3.6 GPA and 1350 score on the SAT II, Darius Robinson's numbers are impressive across the board. Perhaps that is why this future Clemson Tiger plans to make it big on and off of the field.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - MCEACHERN Head Coach Kyle Hockman believes DeMarius Matthews will have a bright future playing college football. With a 3.2 GPA and strong work ethic, Matthews is being recruited to play football by numerous Division-I programs. With or without a scholarship offer, the defensive back says football has already saved his life.

Kyle Woestmann didn't step onto a football field until the 9th grade. Three years of hard work and dedication have earned the Defensive Tackle a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt. Walton Head Coach Rocky Hidalgo says Kyle's 6'3, 265 pound frame and 3.9 GPA are a unique combination.

Senior place-kicker Amber Irvin has a 3.4 GPA and the respect of her teammates at MLK. Amber earned a starting spot on the Lions' football team as a first-year player. Quarterback Cameron Myers says the team has faith in their female teammates ability.

Jay Matthew does not let his disability slow him down on the field. With the help of interpreter, Kelli Livingston, the honor student has dreams of playing for Georgia Tech.

Athlete of the Week: Duluth A three-time Academic Letterman and four-time Athletic Letterman, Hamilton Garner is paving his way to a future in the Ivy Leagues. Quarterback Alex Fragoso says Garner is a role model to all.

Athlete Of The Week: Cross Keys Head Coach David Radford says his Senior QB, Brandon Hamilton will be a blessing to any college roster. Hamiton claims that time management is key while playing football and maintaining a 3.7 GPA in AP Courses.

Wesleyan School Cheerleaders
Sixty-four of the top cheerleading squads in Georgia battled it out on wsbtv.com to determine which team has the best cheerleaders in the state. Now, following more than 500,000 votes and judging by the Atlanta Hawks A-Town Dancers & staff, a winner has been picked.


Who has the most school spirit in Georgia? It's Woodstock High School in Cherokee County. They win the McDonald's High School Spirit Spotlight. They won it in 2008 too. Congrats Woodstock.
