Who has the best high school band in Georgia? Your votes will help decide that. The winning band will get to play at an Atlanta Braves baseball game in the spring.

Votes are based on the number of video views each band video receives and now text message votes. When a band is clicked on, a new window will open that will show a performance from that team and will indicate the number of views that video has received below it. Every view of that video is another vote for the video.

Text messaging now is included in the voting. Text message votes count 50% of a team's score, video views count 50% of a team's score. For example, if Team A has 100,000 video views and Team B has 50,000 video views, Team A would get 100 points for that portion, Team B would get 50 points. If Team A has 10 text message votes and Team B has 100 text message votes, Team A would get 10 points, Team B would get 100 points. Add the two together, Team A has 110 points, Team B has 150 points so Team B would advance. We will give text message voting updates Nov. 18, 20, 23, 25, 26. Standard text messaging rates apply.

Teams can also receive Facebook bonuses. If 100 people from a school join Sports Zone Friday on Facebook and have their school name listed as one of their networks, that team receives an extra 1,000 votes on top of their video total. Each school that creates their own Facebook page to promote this contest and has 100 fans sign up, that school will get another 1,000 votes on top of their video total. Voting will end at noon on the last day for each round. Voting for the next round will begin shortly after. If the school wishes to replace the video we are using with their own video, the band director of that school can contact nelson.hicks@wsbtv.com. Please note, it may take up to 5 days once we receive the video to replace it. The voting will not stop in the meantime. Bands will vote on a new video each round and thus, the vote totals will start at zero for each new round.

The voting competition will determine the final four bands. Those will be named on Dec. 4. From there, the Braves staff will pick the winner. The winning band will have the opportunity to play in Fan Plaza before an Atlanta Braves game this spring.
