Think your high school features the best band in Georgia? Do fans come to your football game for the halftime show rather than the game itself? Now it's time to prove it.

WSB-TV is searching for the best high school band in the state of Georgia. The winning band will play at an Atlanta Braves baseball game! That's right, an Atlanta Braves baseball game.

The competition will start in the next few weeks. WSBTV.com will feature a version of March Madness, high school band style. The bands will be placed in brackets where they will compete head-to-head with another high school band. The public is encouraged to watch the videos and then vote on which band should advance in the competition. Once the voting period ends, the winners move on in the bracket. From there, they will face-off against another high school band.

The winning band will have an opportunity to perform in Fan Plaza at Turner Field before an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Because of the timing of the competition and the Atlanta Braves season, the band will play at a game in the 2010 season. The aim is to play at the end of this school year (April or May) so the winning band members will get to play. Tickets will be provided for band members and staff. Parents and friends will have the opportunity to purchase tickets.

Now, start watching the videos and decide which team has what it takes to dazzle the thousands in attendance at an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Voting will start soon.

WSB-TV will shoot video of the bands at most games that we attend. WSB-TV can't make it to every school though and that's where you come in to play. We will include several bands that submit their own video right here on WSBTV.com. Grab a camera or find a parent with one and start rolling tape on your performance this Friday night.
