UGA's Nick Chubb named SEC 'Offensive Player of the Week'

ATHENS, Ga. — University of Georgia running back celebrated “Senior Day” in style on Saturday in Athens.

The Bulldogs’ second all-time leading rusher ran for a season-best 151 yards on 15 carries. He added two touchdowns to help power UGA to a blowout 42-13 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.

For his efforts, Chubb was named the SEC "Offensive Player of the Week" on Monday.

The Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game will be televised LIVE on Channel 2 and broadcast on radio by WSB 750 AM and 95.5 FM. The game can also be heard on 680 AM and 93.7 FM.

Texas A&M’s Derrick Tucker was named “Defensive Player of the Week” and LSU’s Zach Von Rosenberg was named “Special Teams Player of the Week.”

Georgia (10-1) faces Georgia Tech (5-5) Saturday at Noon on Channel 1.

Win or lose, the Bulldogs will play for the SEC Championship on Dec. 2 in Atlanta. They’ll face the winner of Saturday’s Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn.
