Norcross Kicks Off Thursday Night Schedule With Blowout Win

NORCROSS, GA,None — Joseph Wilber threw two touchdown passes and Norcross kicked off its season with a 35-7 win over Dacula on Thursday night on the Blue Devils' home field.

The game also marked the first Thursday Night Sports Zone Game of the Week, which is broadcast on 'Me-TV' (Comcast channel 248, Charter channel 126). The Thursday night crew will provide games each week, all the way through the state semifinals in December.

At least two different touchdowns were nullified due to penalties, which is oftentimes a sign of the first game of the season. One of the plays called back was a kickoff return for a touchdown to open the second half by Norcross' Jyair Charles.

However, the Blue Devils received the two TD passes by Wilber and two touchdown runs by Tanner Maloof, the head coach's son, to easily cruise to a four-touchdown victory.

Next Thursday's game will match Southwest DeKalb and Tucker.
