Top performances from Week 10: Herman, Horne carry teams in top 10 showdowns

ATLANTA — Top five

*Campbell RB Mike Rogers rushed for 359 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries in a 49-35 victory over Kennesaw Mountain. Rogers leads Class AAAAAA in rushing with 1,644 yards.

*Collins Hill QB Tyler Herman was 21-of-35 passing for 305 yards and four touchdowns in a 53-28 victory over then-No. 1 North Gwinnett. He also rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

*Johnson County QB Markel Horne rushed for 330 yards and scored six touchdowns on 16 carries and was 5-for-9 passing for 17 yards and two touchdowns in a 65-29 victory over Emanuel County Institute in a game between Top 10 Class A teams.

*Schley County RB Tra Minter rushed for 315 yards, scored five touchdowns and was 6-of-9 passing for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 66-36 victory over Central of Talbotton.

*Stephenson DE Chauncey Rivers had nine tackles, five for losses, three sacks and a deflected pass in a 10-6 victory over M.L. King that ended Stephenson’s three-game losing streak to its DeKalb County arch-rival.

*Allatoona RB Josh Bettistea rushed for 295 yards and scored four touchdowns on 20 carries in a 44-7 victory over Hiram. Bettistea went over 1,500 yards on the season (1,525 unofficially).

*Bainbridge RB Aaron Callaway rushed for 218 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries in a 28-7 victory over Northside of Columbus.

*Brunswick QB Cory Dixon rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns and was 11-of-19 passing for 155 yards in an 18-12 loss to Camden County.

*Calvary Day RB/WR Derek Kirkland scored four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving, in a 48-6 victory over Claxton. He had 90 yards rushing. QB Michael Peterson threw four TD passes and completed 12 of 17 passes for 219 yards.

*Cambridge QB Brian Moore was 17-of-26 passing for 338 yards and three touchdowns and also scored two touchdowns while rushing for 51 yards in a 52-23 victory over North Springs. WR Hunter Smith had 11 catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns. The passing yards, total yards and total touchdowns by Moore and the receptions and receiving yards by Smith were school records.

*Cedar Shoals RB Adrian Washington rushed for 196 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns in a 27-6 victory over Winder-Barrow. Washington surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the season (1,029).

*Central of Carroll County RB Curtis Davenport scored on a school-record 99-yard run that gave his team the lead for good in a 24-8 victory over Jackson of Atlanta. Davenport finished with 134 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns.

*Chapel Hill RB Jamarcus Morrissette rushed for 242 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries in a 58-15 victory over Haralson County.

*Cherokee QB Spencer Ashley was 25-of-41 passing for 241 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-29 victory over Roswell. He threw the game-winning touchdown with nine seconds left. WR Blace Brown had 10 catches for 138 yards.

*Chestatee DB Blake Buffington intercepted three passes and scored two touchdowns, one on a 75-yard kickoff return, in a 42-14 victory over Lumpkin County.

*Creekside QB Felix Harper was 19-of-22 passing for 332 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-10 victory over McIntosh.

*Drew QB Brandon Pearson threw five TD passes and scored a touchdown in a 68-7 victory over Mount Zion of Jonesboro. Pearson was 16-of-23 passing for 336 yards.

*Duluth DE Evan Ubakanma had six solo tackles, nine assists, three sacks for 19 yards in losses and three other tackles for losses of 11 yards in a 27-14 victory over Habersham Central. WR/QB Devin Terry, getting his first start at quarterback in the wildcat formation, rushed for 158 yards and scored three touchdowns on 15 carries.

*Dunwoody RB/DB Aaron Alexander rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, scored a two-point conversion, intercepted two passes, one of which he returned 67 yards for a touchdown, and made two tackles in a 28-0 victory over North Atlanta.

*Etowah DE Preston White had 10 tackles, two for losses, two sacks and a batted pass in a 35-28 victory over Woodstock.

*First Presbyterian Day DE Regan Green had 15 tackles, three for losses, two sacks and a forced fumble in a 41-40 victory over Wilkinson County.

*Griffin WR Keyston Fuller had eight receptions for 124 yards and returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown in a 43-13 victory over Upson-Lee.

*Hughes DE D’Andre Walker had five sacks for 50 yards in losses and Keion Davis rushed for 291 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 42-14 victory over East Coweta. Davis went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season (1,177).

*Lanier RB Tario Fuller rushed for 239 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in a 31-14 victory over Stephens County. Fuller passed the 1,000-yard mark for the season (1,073).

*Lee County QB Stephen Collier was 18-of-25 passing for 342 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown in a 44-7 victory over defending Region 1-AAAAA champion Harris County. WR J.Q. Quimbly had nine receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns.

*Liberty County QB Jordan Waters passed for 301 yards and three touchowns and rushed for 56 yards in a 34-26 loss to Wayne County.

*Lovejoy WR Preston Williams scored on a 94-yard screen pass, an 81-yard pass and a 76-yard punt return in a 56-23 victory over Newton.

*Luella DB Steve Osondu had eight tackles, 3.5 behind the line of scrimmage, two sacks, a forced fumble that was recovered for a touchdown and a 72-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 43-22 victory over Morrow.

*Macon County OL Devonte Cromer had 10 tackles, two for losses, two sacks and a forced fumble that he recovered in a 31-18 victory over Monticello.

*Marist QB Chase Martensen, playing only in the first half, rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries and was 5-of-7 passing for 55 yards and one touchdown in a 49-7 victory over Stone Mountain.

*Mays LB Roderick Tyler had eight solo tackles and eight assists, a tackle for a loss and a sack in a 40-8 victory over Lakeside of Atlanta.

*Metter LB Connor West had 16 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for losses and two fourth-down stops in a 20-13 victory over McIntosh County Academy.

*Milton RB Chad Tolliver rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries and returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in a 28-21 victory over Walton.

*Mount Pisgah Christian QB Aaron Winchester was 21-for-40 passing for 278 yards and four touchdowns and carried 16 times for 60 yards in a 28-24 victory over Mount Paran Christian. Winchester threw two TD passes in the final five minutes to keep Mount Pisgah unbeaten.

*Mundy’s Mill RB Rodney Smith rushed for 335 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in a 24-17 victory over Union Grove. He went over 1,000 yards for the season (1,120).

*Parkview RB Justis Prosser rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries in a 21-13 victory over Central Gwinnett.

*Rabun County RB Charlie Warner rushed for 236 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries, scored four touchdowns, caught two passes for 53 yards and intercepted two passes. Freshman QB Hunter Sims, the younger brother of Alabama and former Gainesville QB Blake Sims, was 8-for-14 passing for 155 yard and one touchdown. He rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown.

*Riverdale WR Rashad Canty had five receptions for 125 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-27 loss to Jonesboro.

*Riverside Military QB Colin Pettell was 16-of-20 passing for 316 yards and five touchdowns in a 66-0 victory over Glascock County. Pettell also scored a touchdown. He has thrown for 1,384 yards and 15 touchdowns despite missing the first game.

*Rutland QB Timori Northcutt threw six TD passes – three in the first quarter to WR Shakenneth Williams – in a 47-14 victory over Howard. Northcutt threw for 255 yards. Rutland RB Montez Cheney rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown.

*Savannah Country Day sophomore QB Hunter Hatley was 13-of-22 passing for 148 yards and rushed for 93 yards on 21 carries in a 17-14 victory over Portal. Hatley scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion. Colton Lichtenberg made field goals of 37, 40 and 51 yards.

*Seminole County RB Javon Wiggins rushed for 147 yards, scored four touchdowns and threw a 60-yard TD pass in a 57-21 victory over Randolph-Clay.

*Sonoraville RB Andrew Slaton rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on six carries and caught three passes for 68 yards and one touchdown in a 56-8 victory over Gordon Central. Slaton, playing his first season of football, won track and field state championships in the 100 meters and 110-meter hurdles last spring.

*Southeast Bulloch FB Tyler Epps rushed for 241 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 42-21 victory over Beach that clinched Southeast’s first state-playoff berth in 10 seasons. Epps has rushed for 1,431 yards and scored 20 touchdowns on the season.

*Stephenson LB Dale Warren had 14 tackles, three for losses, and FS Cameron Glenn had two interceptions and three pass breakups in a 10-6 victory over M.L. King.

*West Forsyth PK/P Timmy Hartshorn made field goals of 42 and 19 yards, was 6-for-6 on extra points, punted once for 38 yards inside the 20-yard line and made a touchdown-saving tackle on a kickoff in a 48-21 victory over Chattahoochee. Hartshorn recently was invited to play in the Georgia-Florida All-Star game on Jan. 4.

*West Laurens QB Garrel Quainton passed for 342 yards and a touchdown in a 31-21 loss to Veterans. Justin Smith had 10 catches for 219 yards.

*Woodward Academy QB Terry Googer rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and was 6-of-11 passing for 165 yards and a touchdown in a 42-28 victory over St. Pius.
