Barry's one behind the Babe.

Barry Bonds hit his fifth home run of the campaign and the 713th of his career on Sunday, moving him within one of Babe Ruth for second place on the all-time list.

Bonds hit a 2-1 pitch from Philadelphia starter Jon Lieber that almost made it to the upper right-field deck in the sixth inning during the 9-5 loss against the Phillies.

Bonds now finds himself 42 homers shy of Hank Aaron for the all-time lead.

Bonds finished the three-game series against Philadelphia, with San Francisco losing all three games, 3-for-9 with one home run, two runs scored and three walks while striking out twice.

The Giants host Houston Monday night. Bonds isn't scheduled to start, but could pinch hit later in the game. Roy Oswalt is scheduled to be on the hill for the Astros.
