Senators, Panthers Clash In Sunrise

The Florida Panthers shoot for their first three-game winning streak of the season, as they host the mighty Ottawa Senators at the BankAtlantic Center.

The Panthers have had three two-game winning streaks this season, but haven't won three in a row since March 11-17, 2004.

Florida beat Chicago in Sunrise on Saturday when Olli Jokinen scored with 1:03 left in overtime to give the Panthers a 4-3 victory.

Jokinen also had two assists and Gary Roberts was credited with three helpers for Florida. Nathan Horton scored twice, while Juraj Kolnik also scored for the Panthers.

Roberto Luongo stopped 35 shots for the Panthers.

Tonight's test marks the finale of a four-game homestand for the Panthers. Florida is 7-5-1 at BankAtlantic Center this year.

The Senators, meanwhile, lead the NHL with 40 points this season and are coming off a victory versus Los Angeles on Friday evening. Dany Heatley scored two goals and Dominik Hasek made 28 saves, as Ottawa pounded the Kings, 5-1, at the Corel Centre.

Brandon Bochenski added a goal and an assist for the Senators, who have seven wins in the last eight games.

Jason Spezza contributed two assists giving him 32 helpers on the year. Spezza leads the NHL with 43 points (11g, 32a).

Tonight's game is the make-up of the October 22nd contest that was cancelled because of Hurricane Wilma.

Ottawa won the only meeting of the season, posting a 4-1 win over the Panthers at the Corel Centre on November 17. The Senators have won four straight and five of the last six matchups.
