San Diego, CA -- (Sports Network) - Ricky Nolasco provided a dazzling performance on the mound, as Florida blanked San Diego, 5-0, to complete a three-game sweep at Petco Park.

Nolasco (7-7) scattered just two hits, walked three and struck out 10 over 6 1/3 innings.

Chris Coghlan belted a two-run homer and Jeremy Hermida added a solo shot for the Marlins, who had dropped five of six entering this series. Dan Uggla finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Kyle Blanks had one of San Diego's three hits, while Josh Geer (1-6) was the hard-luck loser after allowing two runs on six hits in six innings.

"You pretty much have to deal with it," said Geer. "All you can do is give your team a chance to win. That's what you try to do each outing."

Hermida homered to lead off the second and Uggla singled home Hanley Ramirez with two gone in the sixth.

Meanwhile, Nolasco retired 14 batters in a row until Adrian Gonzalez walked to start the seventh. San Diego loaded the bases, but veteran reliever Brendan Donnelly got Luis Rodriguez to pop up to short and caught pinch-hitter Chase Headley staring at strike three to defuse the rally.

"It felt good striking guys out," said Nolasco. "I tried to get more early contact as the game went on. The seventh inning was unacceptable on my part, but Donnelly came in and did a good job."

The Marlins scratched out another run in the eighth on a throwing error, and Coghlan's home run off All-Star closer Heath Bell in the ninth cemented the win.

The Marlins swept a three-game series in San Diego for the first time since their first-ever series in San Diego (June 4-6, 1993)...John Baker had two hits for Florida...The Padres have lost six of seven since returning from the All-Star break.
