Christon, Liberty Handle Dream

(Sports Network) - Shameka Christon scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the New York Liberty past the Atlanta Dream, 93-81, at Philips Arena.

Janel McCarville added 15 points for the Liberty, who have won two in a row after starting the year with three straight losses. Cathrine Kraayeveld poured in 13 points and dished out three assists. Ashley Battle finished with 14 points and five rebounds for New York, which shot 57.4 percent from the field.

Chamique Holdsclaw poured in 17 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Dream, who had a short two-game winning streak snapped. Iziane Castro Marques ended with 14 points. Sancho Lyttle and Erika DeSouza each contributed 13 points. Lyttle also pulled down nine boards for Atlanta, which shot 42.6 percent from the floor.
