Channel 2 sports director Chuck Dowdle has confirmed with sources that the University of Georgia will be parting ways with their men's basketball coach, Dennis Felton.

UGA is set to make the formal announcement at an 11 a.m. news conference.

The announcement comes after an 0-5 start in the SEC and a lopsided loss to Florida Wednesday night.

Assistant coach Pete Hermann will take over coaching duties on an interim basis.

Georgia plays Alabama Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Felton had an 84-91 record and was in his sixth season at Georgia. His team won the SEC tournament last year, but was knocked out of the NCAAs in the first round. He coached five seasons at Western Kentucky before taking the Georgia job in 2003.
