NCAA Game Summary - Santa Clara At Harvard

(Sports Network) - Jeremy Lin scored a team-high 17 points for the Harvard Crimson as they knocked off Santa Clara, 73-68, in a non- conference battle at the Lavietes Pavilion.

Lin finished the game with nine assists, five rebounds, and three steals, leading Harvard (7-6) in all three categories. Drew Housman added 16 points in the contest, while Doug Miller and Peter Boehm also finished in double digits, recording 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Kevin Foster led Santa Clara (7-8) with 20 points, and John Bryant finished with a double-double in the loss, racking up 14 points and 11 rebounds. Bryant also swatted five shots, and Perry Petty rounded out a Bronco double-digit scoring trio with a dozen points.

Harvard led by a 31-29 margin at the break, shooting 40 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. Santa Clara hung in with a 57.6 shooting percentage from the field but only knocked down 57.6 percent from the free throw line.

In the second half, Harvard shot 44.4 percent from the field and hit 83.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Broncos connected for 50 percent of their three-point shots in the second half, but five missed free throws, allowing the Crimson to walk away with the five point victory.

Despite the loss, Santa Clara outrebounded Harvard by a 42-24 margin.
