The Way I See It...
Michael Vick was all over the news again this week for the wrong reasons. Security police at the Miami airport say that Vick was asked to discard a water bottle before entering the secure area. He is reported to have argued before tossing the bottle into the trash.
Turned out the bottle had a secret compartment in it that airport security claims contained particles that smelled like marijuana. It is being tested by Miami Police.
I happen to believe that a number of NFL players smoke the stuff. My problem with this latest incident is that Vick tried to sneak something through a security check point.
In today's world I think that is a serious offense.
By the way... Saturday Night Live did a really funny skit about Vick. They gave him a hard time about being dumb enough to try and sneak a fake water bottle by the security guards.

Chan Gailey surprised me last Friday when I asked him at what point the Dolphins told him he was no longer a candidate for their head coaching position. He said they didn't tell him. They didn't tell him anything. He just assumed he was out of contention when he heard reports that Cam Cameron had the job.
A courtesy call would have been appropiate.
Chan is staying at Tech at least for the time being. He doesn't rule out the possibility that he might jump to the NFL in the future. He acknowledged that he could make twice maybe three times as much money coaching in the pros.
Coach Gailey is a very nice man but I think there are a number of Tech supporters who would have been just as happy to see him go. Yes he won nine games this season, but he's never beaten Georgia. And that still matters.
On the same day he said he was staying at Tech, he lost his offensive coordinator, Pat Nix, to the Miami Hurricanes. He turned over play calling to Nix this season and he did a fine job. Now Gailey must find a new coordinator.

Hope you saw Diamond Dallas Page on Sports Final. The former professional wrestler was in town promoting his yoga regimen known as YRG, yoga for regular guys. DDP is serious about YRG. His website (yrgworkout.com) puts it this way: DDP and the Yoga-Doc have taken all the best from the traditional yoga systems and deleted the chanting and incense.
Page is quite a character. He helped make World Championship Wrestling (WCW) the hottest show on cable television in the '90s. He wrestled for 14 years and was became a three time world champion.
He readily admits it was all scripted. But these guys faced injuries just like other professional athletes. He suffered torn rotator cuffs on both shoulders, a torn meniscus in his left knee, and ruptured two discs in his back. YRG brought him back from those injuries and he was able to resume his career.
Page used to live in Atlanta but now makes his home in Los Angeles where he makes movies, gives inspirational speeches and promotes YRG.
See ya...
