Ducks Extend Pahlsson

Posted: 12:30 am EDT October 9, 2006

(Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks announced on Sunday they have signed forward Samuel Pahlsson to a two-year contract extension.

Pahlsson appeared in all 82 games with the Ducks last year and scored 11 goals and picked up 10 assists. His 11 goals were a career high.

The 6-0, 205-pound forward has played in 195 straight games and it's the longest active streak with the franchise.

"Samuel Pahlsson has established himself as one of the best two-way centers in this league," said Anaheim Ducks executive vice president/general manager Brian Burke. "We rely on him to kill penalties, win faceoffs and shut down opposing teams' top lines, and he does all those things well."

The Ducks acquired Pahlsson during the 2000 season in a trade with Boston.
