GOING GREEN GEORGIA EXPERTS

Since 1978, Southface has educated consumers, design and construction professionals, policymakers and the media on practical ways to save energy and water, use natural resources wisely and create healthy homes, workplaces and communities.

Each year, over 40,000 people participate in our programs. Here are a few ways you can get involved.

Sustainable Atlanta Round Table (SART) - An open monthly breakfast meeting to promote friendly discussion by concerned citizens and civic leaders interested in sustainable development. Meetings are the first Friday of each month.

Residential Green Building Services - Whether you are building new or looking to improve your current home, Southface can help.

Southface Demonstration Home -our 6,500-square-foot custom home serves as our office and is open Monday through Friday for self-guided tours. Our home features over 150 ways to live graciously and protect the environment.

EarthCraft House - a voluntary green building program, offered in partnership with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, that teaches builders how to design and construct healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. EarthCraft House addresses new homes, renovations, affordable workforce housing, multifamily, townhomes and condominiums and even offers community guidelines for land owners and developers.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR -refers consumers to contractors who have been trained in "whole house" energy improvements.

Homebuilding School - Keep your dream home from becoming a nightmare. The Homebuilding School provides user-friendly knowledge and skills to make economical building/remodeling decisions.

Commercial Green Building Services - a team of experts is available to provide objective, practical consultations to building owners, developers and design teams for a wide variety of services including eco-charrettes, energy modeling and LEED administration and certification. Recent projects include: Atlantic Station, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, City of Atlanta Fire Stations, Georgia Tech's Klaus Advanced Computing Building, and IKEA stores in Massachusetts and New York.

Eco Office - A 10,000-square-foot, 3-story structure will open soon offering tours to demonstrate realistic energy, water and waste-reducing features practical for small office buildings. The Eco Office features the state-of-the-art Home Depot training center for outside groups to hold their next green meeting.

Greenprints Conference and Green Trade Show - our annual Southeastern regional conference on residential and commercial green building and land development. Learn from national and regional experts, skilled practitioners and policymakers ways to make your next project green.

A visionary guest speaker inspires and local leaders are recognized during a celebratory evening that has been described by participants as "not to be missed" and "my favorite annual event."
