Lenox Square, owned by Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), announced a new agreement that will bring the legendary July 4th celebration broadcast to Channel 2 WSB-TV.

Channel 2 will televise the renowned celebration live from Lenox Square in high-definition, showing the scale and scope of the largest fireworks show in the Southeast, as well as other activities such as live concerts, kids’ activities and the growing crowds of revelers.

This will be the first time Lenox Square’s July 4th celebration has been broadcast in high-definition. Channel 2 WSB-TV has been a leader in the Atlanta area for televising local events and programs in high definition, and the station has ranked number one in Atlanta since it signed on almost 60 years ago.

Additionally, during the fireworks special, Fred Blankenship, co-anchor for Channel 2 Action News This Morning, will report live from Mall of Georgia. Blankenship will provide coverage of the festivities taking place there as well as a complete wrap-up of the many Fourth of July festivities showcasing Georgians enjoying the holiday.

Channel 2 is the area’s ABC affiliate bringing viewers hit shows like Desperate Housewives, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Extreme Home Makeover and Dancing with the Stars. It also airs Oprah and Entertainment Tonight.
