Channel 2 Investigates Goes Prime Time

Posted: 10:33 am EST November 30, 2007Updated: 3:46 pm EST December 3, 2007

Channel 2 Investigates goes prime time Monday, December 3, 2007, with eight local investigations that uncovered hidden dangers in food, government water waste, charity scams and possible terrorist ties to Georgia.

Anchor John Pruitt’s report on foreign seafood prompted Georgia officials to take notice. In his undercover investigation Pruitt found that 80 percent of all seafood sold in Georgia grocery stores came from foreign countries: seafood loaded with banned chemicals.

Channel 2 reporter Tom Regan discovered a group of local strip clubs running a charity scam. The clubs put on a golf outing with naked caddies entertaining the foursomes, claiming proceeds went to a local charity. Regan’s video of the event shocked the director of the local charity.

Plus, Channel 2 Action News anchor John Bachman staked out a local intersection covered by a red light camera. Bachman uncovered evidence as to why drivers are more likely to get a ticket there than at other intersections.

And a group collecting money at a local street corner claimed to be raising money for charity but they didn’t want to answer reporter Jodie Fleischer’s questions about where that money goes.

Channel 2 Investigates goes prime time.
