Irving, TX -- (Sports Network) - Terrell Owens caught three touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys routed the Houston Texans, 34-6, at Texas Stadium. Owens finished with five catches for 45 yards and Drew Bledsoe went 17-for-28 with 168 yards and two touchdowns for the Cowboys (3-2), who bounced back from last week's 38-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. "We started slowly today," said Dallas coach Bill Parcells. "We had a little trouble getting on track, had some penalties there, but we finished strong so that was good." Bledsoe's first touchdown pass was the 250th of his career. He is the 12th player in NFL history to reach that plateau. Julius Jones finished with 106 yards on 22 carries, his third straight 100- yard game, and Tony Romo had his first pass completion and first touchdown pass for Dallas, which has won three of its last four. David Carr went 15-for-27 with 128 yards and two interceptions and Andre Johnson had nine receptions for 75 yards for the Texans (1-4), who were looking to follow up their Week 4 win over Miami with another victory. Houston had a 6-3 lead after the first half, but Dallas started the third quarter with the ball and put it into the end zone for a 10-6 lead. The big play of the drive was a 33-yard run by Jones to put the ball in Houston territory. Six plays later, Bledsoe found Owens in the end zone on a three- yard strike less than five minutes in. "The guy is a tremendous weapon that can really help," said Bledsoe about Owens. The Cowboys increased their lead thanks to a Texan turnover. Greg Ellis picked off a Carr pass to give the Cowboys the ball deep in Houston territory. Three plays later, Bledsoe again hooked up with Owens, this time in the end zone from 21 yards out to make it a 17-6 game with under four minutes to play in the third. Another Carr interception, this one by Anthony Henry, again gave Dallas the ball in Houston territory, and on the first play of the fourth quarter, Marion Barber's one-yard touchdown run staked Dallas to a 24-6 lead. The turnovers continued for the Texans as a fumble on the ensuing kickoff led to a Mike Vanderjagt 21-yard field goal to make it 27-6 less than four minutes into the fourth. Owens' third touchdown reception of the game, a two-yard pass from Romo late in the fourth quarter gave the Cowboys a 34-6 lead to finish the scoring in the game. "Coming out from halftime and just being down three points we just had to refocus and beat the guys in front of us," said Owens. "I think everybody knows what is expected of them. We have a great team here." The Texans got on the scoreboard first as they took their opening drive 61 yards in 13 plays and a Kris Brown 19-yard field goal made it 3-0 a little over six minutes in. Carr was 4-for-5 with 41 yards on the drive. "If we could have scored a touchdown on the first drive that would have been good," said Carr. The Cowboys offense, meanwhile, had trouble in the first quarter and were only able to make one first down. They got the kinks worked out of their offense, though, in the second quarter and took the ball on a 16-play, 72-yard drive that ate up 7:33 of the clock and tied the game with a Vanderjagt 22-yard field goal. Bledsoe kept the drive alive when, on 3rd-and-6, he connected with Patrick Crayton for a 14-yard reception. Houston, though, took a 6-3 lead into the locker room thanks to a big special teams play. Mat McBriar appeared to pin Houston deep in its territory with a 56-yard punt, but Phillip Buchanon returned it 45 yards to give the Texans the ball at the Dallas 40. On the last play of the half, Brown hit a 48-yard field goal to give his team the lead. "The first half we executed like we wanted to," said Carr. "The second half, too many turnovers. I've got to find a way to make plays."Game Notes:It was the 25th time Owens had at least two touchdown receptions in a game, which ties him for 4th place in NFL history...Barber has a rushing touchdown in each of his last four games...Houston defensive tackle Seth Payne left the game with a sprained right knee, safety Glenn Earl left with a sprained neck and guard Zach Wiegert left with a sprained left knee...Parcells is the third coach to beat all 32 current NFL franchises, joining Tony Dungy and Mike Shanahan...Owens has 12 touchdowns in last 11 games against AFC opponents.
