Wounded Man Crashes Car Into Atlanta Home

ATLANTA — A gunshot victim crashed a car into a home in southwest Atlanta late Monday night, Atlanta police said.

Detectives said the man was slumped behind the wheel of a Dodge Neon which lost control and hit a house. Police said they initially got the call as an accident.

When police arrived, they discovered that the driver had been shot once in the chest. He later died on the way to the hospital, investigators said.

Police are in the dark about the events surrounding the shooting and need help from the public in solving the case.

"We haven't been able to locate any witnesses as to what happened, so we really don't know what happened," said Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci.
