Woman Charged With Kidnapping Child
Tina Camacaro, 51, is accused of kidnapping Jason Oral. Oral was reported missing from a home in Carroll County on Monday morning.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Tony Thomas spoke with the boy's mother, who said she didn't think she would ever see her son again.
"I was crying like a baby, but when I saw him, my world came back to me," said Brenda Aviles.
Aviles told deputies that Oral disappeared at about 3 a.m. when she and her boyfriend went to get medicine for the boy, leaving him in the care of a 17-year-old daughter.
Officers told Channel 2 Action News reporter Kerry Kavanugh that a neighbor discovered the child five hours later about three-quarters of a mile from his home in the Fairfield Plantation subdivision in Villa Rica. Officers said the child was cold and wet, but not injured.
Investigators told Kavanaugh that Camacaro broke into the home and stole the child while the couple was at the store.
Camacaro is Aviles' boyfriend's estranged wife, deputies said.
"I guess she was mad because he chose me over her," Aviles said.
Camacaro could also be charged with stalking, Kavanaugh reported.
