A Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth a half-million dollars was sold in Fannin County. Copper Pantry, located at 33 Blue Ridge Drive in McCaysville, sold a Hidden Treasure instant ticket with a $500,000 top prize.
The winner, James Vaughn Jr. of Mineral Bluff, claimed his prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
“It was my birthday. I scratched it off, and there it was,” Vaughn shared. “I feel wonderful.”
With his winnings, he and his wife anticipate purchasing a new home.
