Winning ticket worth $400K sold in Gordon County

ATLANTA — A winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth $400,000 was sold in Chatsworth. Chatsworth Marathon #0031, located at 5312 Highway 411 S., sold a 20X The Money instant ticket with a top prize.

The winner, Sonya Townsend of Fairmount, claimed her prize March 17 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
