The Georgia Department of Transportation will close up to four lanes of I-85 South near Ga. 400 Saturday, likely making for teeth-gritting delays, officials said in a press release late Thursday afternoon. However, rain could delay the work.
A contractor will assess the weather Saturday morning, the lane closures will likely be in place between noon and 6 p.m. Saturday, depending on when the rain moves out of the area. They will begin with a triple lane closure until midnight and then resume the rest of the weekend schedule from that point. All lanes will still be reopened by 5 a.m. Monday.
The work will occur on I-85 southbound, from a half-mile north of Clairmont Road to North Druid Hills Road.
Crews will close the lanes so they can replace overhead signs for the I-85/ Ga. 400 interchange.
