Triple Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — Barrow County Sheriff's Office officials said a Barrow County man shot three other men in front of his sister's home near Auburn on Tuesday, leaving one dead and two injured.

Officials said James Bush, 42, who lived with his sister's family near Winder, returned from a trip to Florida Tuesday night and began shooting at his sister's husband and other men in the front yard. They said two men were wounded and 30-year-old Antonio Zavala was killed.

The shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. at the home on Woodview Drive.

Police said after the shooting Bush took his sister's truck and fled the scene.

Authorities said they found a man, who had been shot and killed, in a vehicle near the scene. The two other men were found wounded in the front yard.

SLIDESHOW: Triple Shooting Scene

Police said Bush, after initially fleeing the scene in his sister's black 2000 Ford F-150, crashed the vehicle on Carl-Cedar Hill Road near Woodview Drive. A passer-by who stopped to render assistance was immediately carjacked by Bush, who fled in a silver 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, officials said.

Just after 10 p.m., Barrow County authorities were notified that officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department stopped the suspected gunman's vehicle and arrested him in Buford.

Gwinnett County authorities said Bush became unresponsive and was hospitalized. They said he's in stable condition and will be returned to Barrow County when his condition permits.

The motive for the shooting is not known and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
