Parker

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Preston Parker, an Atlantic High School football star who played at Florida State and in the NFL, was arrested Thursday in Boca Raton on felony charges.

Parker was charged with cocaine possession, using or displaying a firearm during a felony and destroying evidence. Parker is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $6,000 bail.

At Atlantic in 2006, Parker was an All-State first team selection and was considered one of the nation's top high school players. Parker earned a scholarship to Florida State and had a standout sophomore season before legal troubles, which included three arrests, ended his career with the Seminoles after his junior season in 2008.

Parker played with Tampa Bay, New Orleans and the New York Giants before he was released by the Giants on September 22, 2015 after a series of crucial dropped passes in multiple games.

Parker, who lives in Delray Beach, was arrested by Boca Raton police.
