Christmas parade float goes up in flames due to flicked cigarette

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — An organization that helps reunite lost pets with their owners worked months on creating a float for their town’s Christmas parade.

All of that hard work went up in flames after a careless driver flicked a cigarette onto the Lost and Found Pets of Huntsville float while it was being transported to the parade. The still-lit cigarette landed on hay that was part of the float.

Dang.  This is sad to see! This is a float from a Huntsville Christmas Parade today... :(

The float, which had a "Dr. Seuss" theme, took three months to construct and cost $1,000 to build, according to the CNN report. The group managed to hastily assemble a replacement float with the items they were able to save from the original float, according to WHNT.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help fund the organization's spaying and neutering efforts.
