Toddler rescued from hotel pool by off-duty officer

MCDONOUGH, Ga. - An off-duty officer rescued a toddler who nearly drowned in a Henry County hotel pool.
The Henry County Fire Department said rescue units were called to the Hilton Gardens hotel on West Highway 81 in McDonough for a possible drowning late Monday night.
By the time rescuers arrived, the off-duty officer had already pulled the child from the pool and revived the child, the Fire Department said.
The toddler was taken to an area hospital for observation, but was alert, conscious and breathing when rescuers arrived.
It is not clear which agency the officer works for.
