Tire Fire Sends Smoke Over Fulton, Cherokee

ROSWELL, Ga. — A tire fire in Roswell sent a plume of black smoke over two counties Friday afternoon.

The burning stack of tires is at Torres Tires on Arnold Mill Road.

Dozens of cars and trucks parked at the auto repair shop also burned Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from Roswell and Milton battled the fire. A snorkel truck allowed firefighters to spray water from high over the fire.

Arnold Mill Road was closed Ranchette Road to the Cherokee County line.

News Chopper 2 was over the scene and video showed heavy flames and the column of black smoke rising hundreds of feet into the air.
