Thieves Steal $100K From Athens Home

ATHENS, Ga. — Athens-Clarke County police officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a home was robbed of more than $100,000 worth of items.

According to authorities, the Rivermont Road home of Jennifer Raulerson was burglarized sometime between Friday and Monday afternoon while she visited her boyfriend in North Carolina over the weekend. According to Raulerson, many of the stolen items belonged to him.

Police said the thieves entered through a rear window of the home and stole items totaling $116,450. Some of the stolen items included rare baseball cards, jewelry, a laptop, a diamond watch and a safe containing $25,000 in cash.

Police said the robbery appeared to be an isolated incident and they had no other reports of problems in the area.

Officials said they have no suspects.
