Teen Raped While Walking To Summer School

ATLANTA,None - A community is outraged over the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.

Tuesday morning, a girl was walking to summer school when two masked men grabbed and forced her down onto the ground, raping her, police said.

The girl’s mother, who did not want to be identified, talked to Channel 2’s Ryan Young, and told him, "It's been very hard."

“It was about 7:30 in the morning. The victim was on the way to school, and she was actually using the cut-through,” Atlanta police Lt. Staci Gibbs said.

Police said when the girl got to the top of the hill on Smith Street, she encountered two men wearing masks and they assaulted her.

Investigators said the men had their faces covered and described one of the men as tall and thin with a brown complexion, and the other as short and stocky with dark skin.

Since then, the family and police have been hitting the streets in search for the two men.

“I was angry. I wanted to hurt them myself. I now pray for them,” the girl’s mother said.

Anyone with information on this attack is asked to call 911.
