Suspicious Man Taking Pictures Of Kids ID'd

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Police said they have identified a suspicious man who took several pictures of children playing in a Peachtree City neighborhood.

The department is "in the process of meeting with a Fayette County Magistrate Judge to determine if probable cause exists to issue a warrant for his arrest," said Peachtree City Police Capt. Rosanna Dove.

Several children playing in the Mark Style subdivision said the man approached them Saturday afternoon and asked if he could take their pictures, officers said.

A group of mothers saw the man and tried to confront him, but he quickly walked away, according to police.

Peachtree City police searched the area for the suspicious man but could not find him. Officers said they also checked golf cart paths and roads around the subdivision but could not find the man or anyone who saw him walk away.

Police described the man as white, in his late 50s and about 5 feet 8 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall. The man is bald, heavyset, with a protruding stomach and has a well-kept white beard.

The children the man photographed told police he used a high-end digital camera to take their picture.
