ATLANTA (AP) -- Adam Griffith kicked his fourth field goal of the game, a 32-yarder in overtime, as Calhoun ended Buford's streak of Georgia High School Association Class AA state championships at four with a 27-24 payback victory Friday at the Georgia Dome.

Buford (14-1) had defeated Calhoun (15-0) the past three seasons, including 31-24 in overtime last year, and the Yellow Jackets' victory this time prevented the Wolves from setting a GHSA record with five straight state titles.

Down 24-10 with less than 2 minutes left in regulation, Buford got within a touchdown on Sam Clay's 24-yard pass to Paris Head with 1:12 remaining.

The Wolves tied it with 39 seconds left on a 40-yard fumble return by Dallas Lee on a botched Calhoun punt attempt.

In overtime, Buford lost its fourth fumble of the game and Griffith kicked the winner for Calhoun on first down.
