ATLANTA —

Ken Griffey Jr. may be wearing a Braves uniform -- again.

Channel 2 sports director Chuck Dowdle confirmed that there is definite interest in the 39-year-old future Hall of Famer, who recently underwent knee surgery. Dowdle got the confirmation via text message from Atlanta Braves General Manager Frank Wren.

ESPN is reporting that the feeling is mutual. According to the network's report, the Braves are in the mix for Griffey Jr. and that he would be willing to split time with Matt Diaz in left field.

It won't be the first time the younger Griffey has worn a Braves uniform.

He sported the uniform in 1987 when he joined his father, former Braves outfielder Ken Griffey Sr., for batting practice inside the cage at the old Fulton County stadium.
