Runaway Pig Captured In Cobb

MARIETTA, Ga. — Cobb County police say animal control workers have managed to capture a runaway pig.

Officer Joe Hernandez, a county police spokesman, told Channel 2 Action News that the pig was captured Sunday around 10 a.m.

Police say the pig had been roaming the county since Thursday, and it was reported near Interstate Highway 75 that day.

Officials were concerned the pig could cause an accident if it ventured onto the freeway.

Hernandez says officials attempted to contain the pig near the I-75 ramp to Chastain Road and humane traps were brought to the scene. He says officers went to check the traps on Sunday, spotted the pig and were able to catch it.

Hernandez says officials will attempt to contact the pig's owner.
