The autopsy on Tonya Lynn has been completed. The county coroner said it is a homicide, but authorities are not releasing the cause of death at this time.
Suspect James Lynn now sits in this jail, waiting for a magistrate judge to hold his first hearing on that murder charge.
Only Channel 2 Action News was there as James Lynn was taken to jail Friday.
Investigators said he had given police enough information to find the body of his missing estranged with Tonya. News Chopper 2 hovered over the scene a few miles away as local and state investigators retrieved her body from a well.
He was very cooperative throughout the process. Again over time he just revealed more and more information to us that led us to a body, Officer Chris Cooper of the Winder Police Department said.
With the autopsy done, Winder police officially charged James Lynn with murder Saturday.
Tonya Lynn, the mother of four, disappeared Wednesday. A relative found her car abandoned at a library after receiving a cryptic text message asking her to take care of Tonya's children.
Her family put up missing person's fliers all around the small town of Winder, hoping she'd be found alive.
Everybody is talking about it, it's a small town, resident Val Newirth said.
Authorities confirmed to Channel 2s Tony Thomas that they've been in contact with police in Metter, Ga. where James Lynn previously lived.
