Razor Blades Found Taped To Playground Equipment

COLUMBUS, Ga.,None — Officials in Columbus said police and city workers found razor blades taped to playground equipment in a park.

Police said they received a call Tuesday morning, telling them that people had discovered the razor blades. Police and other officials went to the scene and found nine blades.

Tony Adams, director of the city's Parks and Recreation Department, said the blades were found taped to a slide, on a wheel children use to pull themselves off the ground and other pieces of equipment.

Adams said workers cordoned off the area and are going over it with metal detectors to make sure all the blades have been found. They also plan to search other parks and playgrounds.
