Intelligence battle erupts as Trump considers NSA chief for top intel post

A public dispute inside the U.S. Intelligence Community over the weekend burst into full view this weekend, as reports indicated President Obama was being urged to fire National Security Agency chief Admiral Michael Rogers, just as Rogers was being considered by President-Elect Donald Trump for the job of Director of National Intelligence.

After Adm. Rogers met with President-Elect Trump on Thursday, he seemed to be the frontrunner for the DNI post, which is currently held by James Clapper, who will leave the job at the end of the Obama Administration.
