Group of Trump supporters load bus to head to inauguration

ATLANTA — A group of people from metro Atlanta is on a bus headed to the presidential inauguration.

One supporter told Channel 2’s Tom Jones that no matter whether you support President-elect Donald Trump or not, the inauguration is a historic event too exciting to pass up.

The supporters told Jones they are excited about traveling from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. on six tour buses wrapped with Trump 2016 signs.

They're headed to see the president-elect get sworn in to become the 45th president of the United States.

“We just excited to be here. It's an exciting time in history. I'm just thankful to be a small part of it,” Rosie Mosteller told Jones.

About 60 people from across Georgia are on the buses.

Danny Hamilton owns Star Coaches and Star Cafe in northwest Atlanta. He organized the trip.

Hamilton said he wanted to make sure people from Georgia were there to support Trump.

“It's a part of change. It's just something that, like, it hadn't ever happened before,” Hamilton told Jones.

“I like being a part of it. Going and seeing everything take place,” Mosteller told Jones.

Mosteller from Dalton brought his mother and two sons. He is looking forward to Trump being sworn in.

He thinks Trump will protect the core values the country was founded on.

“Trump being a leader, it's kind of like appointed for this time, I think he's the one (to) help point that direction,” Mosteller said.

Jones said they hope to arrive in Washington early Thursday morning. Jones and a photographer will follow the group around as it visits the city and checks out all the inaugural events over the next couple of days.
